Hector Oaks
Always for the loff. Deep down. Speed grown. Energizing the scene — small club, those big festival stages. Drilling the rhythms, under fire, never for hire. To him, the word “fuego” is a mission. A faith. A way of thinking. About energy and creativity. There is a fire burning in his chest. Since his teen days in his hometown Madrid, where he started to dance, trance, and take the chance. It was here where he learned his unmatched DJ mixing skills. Soon after, his speedy soul brought him to Berlin. 2013. It all starts to grow. A few DJ shows around Europe, small parties, first gigs at Tresor and Berghain, more France, Italy, the Netherlands. During the week, intense music studies as a shop assistant at the defunct Berlin-based secondhand vinyl store Record Loft. Exploring all those diverse techno corners while cultivating new loves like ghetto tech. When he wasn’t playing, the dancefloor was his home — hungry for exciting DJ art. He 2stepped, listened, and met scene societies that became family. Like the founders of the Georgian club Bassiani, who made him a resident of their club institution in Tbilisi and released his debut album “As We Were Saying” on their label in 2018. On vinyl — his preferred medium — that Héctor spins with exceptional skills. Fast and precise. Long and heroic. Always on fire. In 2014, he dropped his first 12-inch on Freddy K’s label Key Vinyl. So happy Héctor was, releasing music for his close friend and honored DJ hero. Two more EPs followed until 2015. In 2016, Héctor opens his label, Oaks. For his own music. For fast techno, acid, EBM, and post-industrial from artists like legendary Slovakian producer Rumenige. Meanwhile, his reputation as an excellent vinyl DJ for great techno forever catches worldwide recognition. The vigor goes global. China, South America, again and again Bassiani, Berghain, USA, Canada. Always under sway. Quadruple gig weekends. 2019, another label — KAOS. For searching the boundaries of experimental dance music. On 12-inch samplers like “We Live In The Rave” or “Feeding The Chaos”. With friends like Schacke from Copenhagen or legendary Chicago DJ and producer DJ Deeon. In January 2022, he released “No Hay Mañana” featuring Coco Paloma. Héctor’s fire is global. On all continents. Festivals like Awakenings, Sónar, Monegros, Time Warp, Neopop. Every summer in Ibiza. Countries across South America — Argentina, Chile, Colombia. Always vinyl only. He never stands still. Continuously 2stepping. Even Richie Hawtin unpacks vinyl for a B2B with Héctor at Sónar Lisbon. In 2023, finally, the second album “Fuego Universal”. It brings pop, techno, bangers, late-night hangers — inflamed with vocals by friends like Patrick Mason or Madrid rappers Ill Pekeño & Ergo Pro. A heated greeting to the night, the rave, and techno in all its facets. He performs it live. He changed his address back to Madrid. He built a studio for the hit. He will not stop. Flame the energy, blaze the rave realm. Get on the flow — fuego running the show.
